Kompres was engineered to solve a fundamental problem with legacy web utilities: security risks, slow upload queues, and opaque data handling. Most traditional online compressors transmit your confidential PDFs, personal IDs, and sensitive paperwork to remote cloud servers.
Our Architectural Philosophy
We believe web tools should be instantaneous, zero-cost, and uncompromisingly private. By running all compression routines, stream transformations, and quantization passes locally using WebAssembly, HTML5 Canvas, and modern JavaScript, your files never leave your device memory.
Under the Hood
Instead of relying on remote server farms, Kompres utilizes your own device multi-core CPU and memory:
- Zero Cloud Telemetry — Not a single byte of document text or image pixels is ever sent across the network.
- Native Byte-Level Stream Optimization — Direct parsing of FlateDecode and DCTDecode streams, structural defragmentation, and cross-reference table rebuilds.
- Adaptive Image Quantization — NeuQuant and median-cut color reduction for PNG transparency preservation alongside JPEG quality calibration.
- No Registration & Unlimited Usage — No signups, no daily credit caps, and no waiting queues.
